Vacuum kilns – High Vac
Vacuum drying enables fast drying of lumber species and dimensions that require a difficult and long drying process in a regular batch kiln. In principle, the entire process is based on the physical fact that the boiling point of water gradually decreases below atmospheric pressure.
Stress-free drying with steam pulsation phases
The High Vac vacuum kiln features a square housing adapted to the lumber stack with uniform steam accumulation chambers. With underpressure applied, the lumber-bound water evaporates easily and fast. This reduces drying time significantly and prevents damage to the lumber. Hildebrand has developed the new steam pulsation process for lumber species and dimensions that are otherwise difficult to dry.
