Various methods for moisture measuring are available on the market. Electrical resistance measurement (ERM) is a commonly used method due to its simplicity and fairly good results. Unfortunately, it is somewhat inaccurate when measuring moisture content above fiber saturation point. In addition, it is quite cumbersome to use, as inserting and removing the sensors required for reliable results is time-consuming.

Hildebrand Weight Precision Technology (HWPT) enables wireless weighing of entire lumber stacks. It provides very accurate results and it may easily be integrated into the workflow because the dimensions of the weighing devices are similar to the regular lumber bolsters which are laid out on the kiln floor. Height and length of the HWPT bolsters are adapted to the customer´s standard. For track kilns and continuous kilns, the HWPT bolsters are also available as a built-in feature of the kiln carts.
