Brunner Hildebrand continuously sets new standards in drying chamber solutions for its customers

Hildebrand Drying Technology is a leading manufacturer of drying kilns, headquartered in Gehren near Hanover, Germany, and has served the global timber industry for many years. Brunner Hildebrand drying kilns are known worldwide for their reliability and innovative strength. For decades, Hildebrand has brought innovations, including global advancements in drying technology, to the North American market. The resulting expertise ensures that customers receive customized drying kiln solutions precisely tailored to the requirements of each sawmill, with a particular focus on the desired capacity and timber quality. The possibility of future expansion is always considered during the planning phase. The primary goal is to provide the best-developed, installed, and maintained product on the market today.

Thanks to its expert services and support, Hildebrand maintains numerous long-standing partnerships with international sawmills. A key project is the new Lewis Lumber facility in Clarion, Pennsylvania. There, eight large HTR-100 kilns have been commissioned for the high-quality drying of maple, red oak, and white oak.
The HILDEBRAND Continuous Kiln is divided into various drying zones, each of which can be controlled independently like a single kiln. Each zone is equipped with multiple climate and temperature monitoring points. This ensures complete control over the zone climate, and additional monitoring points before and after the intermediate heater allow for precise analysis of the airflow even after medium-sized bundles have exited the kiln.

With the patented GreenKilns® system for the HCK, the drying zones are interconnected via shared supply and exhaust air ducts, creating a thermal network. Combined with the use of vertical pressure frames and Hildebrand Weight Precision Technology for optimized measurement accuracy, the process delivers consistently high-quality results.
The HighVac has always been the world’s only square vacuum chamber made entirely of aluminum. Its defining characteristics have always been a very low pressure (vacuum) and dehumidification via special cooling plates. Now, a new option is available: a solid stainless steel interior combined with additional “turbo dehumidification.” This enables improved drying, particularly for customers with hardwood species that are difficult to dry.
